The Brethren love feast is based upon a simple premise: disciples do as Jesus commands. In the Gospel of John, Jesus says we should wash feet. We wash feet. The text says we should share a meal. So we eat something. Jesus says we should remember him. So we take the bread and cup. In this treasury, the love feast story is remembered and renewed, extending the invitation for all to come to the Lord's table.
