This new biography of Alexander Mack, the first minister and organizer of the Brethren movement, will give readers a new appreciation for the roots of the Church of the Brethren. Written for children ages 9 through 12, the book will inform and appeal to all ages. Set in Germany, Holland, and early Pennsylvania, the text and full-color paintings depict significant events 300 years ago that influenced Mack and his followers.
Author Myrna Grove is a graduate of Manchester College and an elementary teacher in Ohio. Artist Mary Jewell, an eighth-generation descendant of Alexander Mack, trained at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
