Description

4-session study uses texts from Genesis, Daniel, Samuel, and John to explore why youth join gangs. Includes parent take-home sheet.

Session 1
A Case of Colors uses the story of Joe and his colorful jacket in Genesis 37 as it considers what gangs are, what they do, and who belongs to them.

Session 2
Where Do You Belong? helps youth look at why young people get involved in gangs. The Daniel 3 story of Shad, Mesh, and Abe illustrates how strength comes from belonging to God.

Session 3
Do You Know Better? seeks to increase youth's awareness of the violence around them. Saul, Jon, and Dave dealt with violence, as told in 1 Samuel 18-20.

Session 4
Dying for People to Care helps youth realize they are loved and encourages them to love others. John 4:1-30, 39-42 shows how Jesus reached out to the Samaritan woman.
