| Between the summers of 1945 and 1947, over 7,000 men and boys volunteered to serve as "seagoing cowboys." They helped deliver livestock to war-devastated countries through a partnership of two agencies: the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration and the Brethren Service Committee of the Church of the Brethren. The horses, cattle, and mules the cowboys tended aboard ship helped countries in Europe and Asia rebuild after the Second World War.
Travel with the seagoing cowboys in this DVD photo story. Ride the waves with them, see what they saw, encounter what they experienced.
